⚖️ ↑ Item Balance (inventory snapshot)

An inventory snapshot captures certain inventories within the warehouse at a specified moment in time.

We advise using caution when performing inventory sync during active shipping and receiving. It is necessary to properly account for and reconcile open orders in particular.

Here are a few things you should know about how an inventory snapshot is generated from Ramp's system:

Inventory position changes in real-time as transactions occur in the warehouse (shipping, receiving, etc.). Depending on warehouse activity, the report could be out of date a couple of seconds after we generate it.
Qty on Hand represents the physical quantity in allocable locations in the warehouse. Inventory in Receiving or Returns, as well as inventory allocated to in-progress orders, is excluded.
Qty Allocated represents the quantity on open orders in our system calling for that SKU (snapshot calculates this referencing only pick tickets in WMS at the time the snapshot gets generated.)
Net = qty on hand - qty allocated (net available to ship on new orders).
